5 Artists From the UNDRGRND Collection

UNDRGRND DIGS is a periodical feature showcasing artists that the UNDRGRND curators dig. We sift through the social media and NFT platforms to find the best artists waiting to be discovered. UNDRGRND believes in the artists we feature and we will purchase NFTs from each artist featured.

There’s something for everyone with the art of AViz. Whether creating picture-perfect surreal rooms, organic floating material or abstract 3D paintings, AViz’s use of textures showcase the artist wide spanning talent. These bizarre floating creatures are half deflated balloon animals and half claymation, suspending reality where a creation such as this can exist.

Future art historians will draw the line from the chillwave trend in music to the vaporwave movement and then NFTs and Noma’s vaporwave 3D-sculpture loops perfectly fit in that subculture that began the NFT craze. The over-exposed neon colors and tech themes encapsulate the movement. Pairing our digital lives and the permanency of blockchain juxtaposed with the story of Kuyang, referring to an Indonesian demon that eats a newborn baby for immortality, makes for a poignant statement about how no matter how far we advance technologically, we still seek the same things.

The art of Düzen should be seen and heard. The black and white, minimalist soundscapes will mesmerize the viewer and allow them to see and feel whatever they choose. Düzen manages to pair the perfect audio for each scene, balancing the serene sounds with the slow-moving and the jarring with the chaotic. While these are audio-visual creations literally, they are much more a creation of a mood in each piece.

Roon Toon’s art is a cautionary tale that fails to dissuade the listener. So beautiful are these psychedelics that one feels inclined to become friends with the Puker and hop on this wild ride. So grateful is Roon Toon for his experiences that even a moldy basement is a nostalgic trip of inspiration. These flowing gifs could be a spiritual successor, or even partner, to Ralph Steadman’s work despite being a different style.

Rick’s imagination seems to run rampant the way Stephen King’s does. Always on the pursuit of creating a new horrific creature that no one has seen before, Rick creates monsters that are vile and beautiful. Rick’s truest gift may be his ability to tell a story surrounding his work. Rick adds a depth to each project and pushes the envelope to engage others with his creations building a community and encouraging everyone to delve in deeper to this dark nightmare.

Each UNDRGRND DIGS will feature artists our curators have purchased for the UNDRGRND Collection.
